Broad Street Station

NEWARK, NJ

Netta Architects prepared restoration plans and specifications for Newark’s Broad Street Station, built between 1901 and 1903. The work addressed the historic station’s exterior and architectural features in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s preservation standards.

The scope included masonry restoration, slate roof replacement, replacement doors and windows, replicated canopies, and restoration of the station tower. Architectural lighting formed part of the tower work. Together, these interventions addressed the building envelope and the distinctive elements that define the station’s historic character.
