Essex County College’s Center for Technology brings renewed learning environments and updated instructional technology to the Newark campus. Netta Architects designed the renovation of the existing facility to support the college’s career and technical education programs and its investment in workforce preparation.
A prominent glazed entrance, light-colored exterior panels and dark framing give the center a distinct architectural identity. The contrast between solid walls and broad areas of glass defines the building’s public face, creating a contemporary setting for technology-focused education.
Inside, renewed teaching spaces are supported by new computers and engineering 3D printers, connecting classroom instruction with hands-on experience. Opened in September 2026, the center continues Netta Architects’ work with Essex County College, which also includes the West Essex Campus in West Caldwell.
